Infineon Technologies AG

Infineon Technologies AG is a world leader in semiconductor solutions that make life easier, safer and greener.

Infineon offers products and system solutions addressing three central challenges to modern society: energy efficiency, mobility, and security. Infineon ranks among the 10% most sustainable companies in the world. We understand how technical systems can be made increasingly efficient through the use of semiconductors, providing sustainable solutions for the world of today and the world of tomorrow. Infineon’s climate target is to become carbon-neutral by 2030. Emissions are to be cut by 70 percent over the 2019 levels by 2025. In the 2022 fiscal year (ending 30 September), Infineon reported revenue of more than €14 billion with a workforce of some 56,200 people worldwide. Our Division Power & Sensor Systems drives leading-edge power management, sensing, and data transfer capabilities. Infineon’s XENSIV™ MEMS microphones are designed for capturing audio signals with unprecedented precision and quality. The microphones are comprised of Infineon’s MEMS microphone chips and ASICs which are not without reason the world’s best-selling microphone components.

Role in the project

In Listen2Future, Infineon Technologies AG develops Piezo-Microphone (PMICs) audio sensors with improved signal to noise ratio, smaller footprint and reduced energy consumption.

Key contribution to the project

The key tasks of Infineon Technologies AG in Listen2Future include:

  • Investigation of novel microphone designs and integration concepts (with TU Munich)
  • Collaboration on MEMS material development (with Solmates)
  • Research on PMICs for hearing aid (Use Case 6, with Path Medical)
  • Research on PMICs for objective audiometry (Use Case 7, with Sonion)
