At GE HealthCare, we see possibilities through innovation. We’re dedicated providing integrated solutions to make hospitals more efficient, clinicians more effective, therapies more precise, and patients healthier. Together, we’re creating a world where healthcare has no limits.

GE HealthCare is a leading global medical technology, pharmaceutical diagnostics, and digital solutions innovator, dedicated to providing integrated solutions, services, and data analytics to make hospitals more efficient, clinicians more effective, therapies more precise, and patients healthier and happier. Serving patients and providers for more than 100 years, GE HealthCare is advancing personalized, connected, and compassionate care, while simplifying the patient’s journey across the care pathway.

Together our Imaging, Ultrasound, Patient Care Solutions, and Pharmaceutical Diagnostics businesses help improve patient care from prevention and screening, to diagnosis, treatment, therapy, and monitoring. We are an $18 billion business with 51,000 employees working to create a world where healthcare has no limits.

In Austria, we focus on Ultrasound. Whether treating a patient with COVID-19 and determine lung function at the point of care or diagnosing an emergency appendicitis, or using 4D technology for interventional cardiology, ultrasound provides an extra set of “eyes” to both physicians and surgeons, making them more efficient and creating better outcomes for their patients.

Role in the project

Our mission in L2F. Bring skills, experience, and knowledge to the Dual Frequency PMUT Medical Ultrasound Probe Use Case and demonstrate PMUT technology on a clinical ultrasound scanner.

Key contribution to the project

  • Specification for transducer building blocks - Ultra-wideband PMUT with dual frequency operation
  • Characterization and test of Dual-frequency PMUT arrays (frequency bands: 3~9 MHz/12~20 MHz; device thickness: <100 um)
  • Device integration - integration of PMUTs and ASICs into a ultrasound probe prototype vehicle
  • Demonstration of biomedical imaging
